How does one go about tracing records from France and Germany?
My Grandmother is French and knows two generations back, we have a family tomb at Père-Lachaise but after that?
And my Great Grandfather, Victor Grunhut is German born...

The other thing I have is a newspaper article about Victor Grunhut, lawyer, and he does look like my Grandfather! I know they had contact and he met my Grandmother but my Grandfather never told her who he was until the end of his life. She remembers him coming to see my uncle when he was a boy...
