I wonder if anyone has further details of Sylvia Ruth Carver and her husband, E C Pennefather. He is described in the marriage announcement given in the thread as “O.E.T.A.” What does this refer to?

    Sir Thomas d’Oyly Snow

Thank you to everyone who has responded to my thread. I will see at the County Archive if I can find anything for Harriet and Catherine. It is possible that one of them was in Wilts in 1916 as those who were supporters of ‘Women on the Land’ were often willing to relocate to where they were...

Does anybody have information about Olive Awdry ( neeToswill) who got an MBE in1920

I am looking for the details of several women in Wiltshire who were organising women in agriculture in the Great War. Does anybody have information about Olive Awdry who lived in Manningford and got the MBE in 1920?

Lavinia M Carver was the President of the Downton Women’s Institute, one of the first WIs to be established in Wiltshire. This started in April 1916, I do not know when she gave this iPad I have only read the minutes up to the end of the Great War.
