    Looking for John Jefferies

Thanks for the results, only one of them fit in the time zone but his occupation seems too different On their marriage certificate he is in Middlesex in 1855 as that's when they married, there is a residence place but I can't read it that we'll. Maybe a search of that on a 1851 census might...

    Looking for John Jefferies

If you could do that, that would be great. I do feel like he was born in middlesex, london but something had happened to his parents, now as mentioned according to his marriage cert, his father was a Butler, whether he died many years ago or this is a total lie, we won't know however it was...

    Looking for John Jefferies

Very frustrating isn't it. I'm so keen on finding the right parents though. I am debating whether or not to pay for full access on ancestry to have a look in different countries? What do you think?

    Looking for John Jefferies

I probably should of widened the dates a little however I went on the birth years stated on the census and the age of death on the death certificate. Even then, he might not of been baptized at the church or even in the UK. His father was a butler so maybe he was born in a different country and...

Thanks Llewred for your reply. At this point I'm looking into all possibilities as there is no direct link. If we had a 1841 and/or 1851 census it possibly could help as he was a young boy then. By 1861 he had met and is living with Louisa. His wife. I just find it strange that there is no...

    Looking for John Jefferies

My apologies, I've removed the whole census image. The entry is quite weird but itll be very exciting to learn what his mother was called as this is a big step in me helping find his baptism and possibly an early census.

Thanks for the message Dave. I've uploaded the while Census. What could the "W" possible stand for if he was already married and living with his wife ? IMAGE REMOVED. Please look at the census image above.

    Looking for John Jefferies

I've just been looking through John's 1861 Census where he is living with his wife and his children. There is one entry that Ancestry doesn't write out. Ill attach it here. I just can't make out the "Condition" column. It looks like a W but that'll be wife but Louisa is his wife. Could it be a...

    Looking for John Jefferies

Hi Amanda, there is a chance of him being born in another country, i cannot seem to find a 1841 or 1851 census of him anywhere, in 1861 he is living with Louisa. Strange how there is no baptism and he doesn't exist for the first 2 census.

It does seem strange how there's no records linking, could he have been given away by his mother? maybe his father was away at the time and his mother died at birth.. i don't know. i'm so keen on trying to find the father if he's out there.

    Looking for John Jefferies

Wow Steve they are very promising, I do think i read through the records before but i couldn't find any links to John himself. I'm starting to think his mother possibly died shortly after having John and his died moved away to do his job as a Butler however he must of known his father if he knew...

    Looking for John Jefferies

Your 100% correct, i could not find any record to link him to his parents, a baptism would of helped but even if we found one, we woudn't know if it was the correct one due to his inconsistent age and birht place. Because of the inconsistency i've tried looking for deaths between 1819-1900. Even...
