Hi dc I agree with you I think his name has been misread, Michael and Richard share the same letters in the middle (icha) and the "el" at the end of Michael could be misread as a "d" , the other info is to similar to be a coincedence. I never met him and nobody left in the family remembers...

unfortunatley I don't have any documents , can I assume that Richard and michael are one and the same person

Is he listed on the 1891 cencus, and if so what name? it's a bit odd that the children have exactly the same names and ages. thanks again for your interest
