    Dave, I've spent hours going over records. I cannot find him. I've also traced all the Robert Wards in the police force but can't match him up. Next step is to contact Middlesex regiment and see what they can do

    Nothing other than died in 1937 and his wedding certificate says his father was a police inspector.
