Hi. I have Joseph and Hannah Anson on the 1841 census, living in Floodgate Street, Birmingham, but i cannot trace them on any of the later censusus.
Have tried variations on the names, but nothing has turned up.
Hi Dave. Yes, that John Campbell is very likely to have been my grandfather., & as i mentioned, he was admitted from Birmingham Workhouse.
I knew he had a brother called Lawrence. but not Hugo (unless he never knew??).
I have my grandfathers marriage certificate, & it states his father was Hugh...
Further to my last thread, i have since found out that my grandfather was admitted to St.Pauls Home, Coleshill in 1898 from Birmingham Workhouse via Birmingham Guardians. Reason for admission: desertion by father.
Discharged from St.Pauls to St.Vincents Home for Working Boys on 19 Dec1903.
It could well be his parents, but still uncertain.
Iv'e had a look on bmd & found a Laurence Campbell born sept sept 1884, & a Hugh Cambell 1886.
If it is my grandfather, why Hugh & not John??? & of course the year is 3 yrs out (unless they lied about his age)- all veryconfusing.
Hi Dave. Thanks for replying.
I am not absolutely certain that the John Campbell on the 1901 is my grandfather, but it was him, it just the only one i could find.
I have contacted the home, but they do not know his parents name.
I am almost certainly sure the John Campbell (although it was...
My grandfather john joseph campbell on 1901 & 1911 census listed as being born in Birmingham, but unable to find him on birth index.
He was married in 1915 to MinnieGrace, aston, B.Ham.
Would he of had to produce his birth certificate when he married, if not, how can i find out.
