I have just come across a possible census in 1881 which may prove that the above censuses for James Senior and James Junior as a child may not be correct.

I have found a "Ackers Hall Avenue" in West Derby so I think it's that. Would not have got it without your help though, I could make out "Hall" but not "Avenue".
