    hiya, try www.familytreeforum.com sometimes males and females married more than once, My gt grandparents married twice, he was a grenadier guard and married his 'wife' twice, I gether that this wasnt uncommon within the army for some reason.....

    do you use vista?? it has some issues with that, I use XP and it is fine with that?? if you sling me a name and area pref bradford, and which riding it is in... i'll have a look and see how well its covered :)

    hi Mark, I have the NBI and although NOT complete it has helped narrow 'some' burials down. some areas are very sparse indeed, (I think devon has about 3 parishes listed !!!)

    Now I have a theory, whether this is right or not well, we'll have to see. was your gt grandad known as Michael? at all? the reason I ask is that on the image on ancestry it looks like Michael could be misread as Richard and vise versa.... the enumerator would have to copy (try and read)...

    Hi I have found the 1881 census with Richard and Ann, and the children, it is possible that Richard was Michaels brother and to have children named after siblings children wasnt an uncommon practice.

    not wanting to poo poo anything here.. but you wont find a marriage certificate for a marriage in 1788, however, you will find a marriage entry within the Parish registers. have you had a look at Hugh Wallis' site at all? you might find a marriage or bapt on there...
