My Grandfather was born in Guernsey and adopted in 1905 by Mr & Mrs Wade who were in the army, possibly based at Guernsey at the time. A copy of his informal hand-written 'Adoption Note' was later stamped ARMY PAY OFFICE, PRESTON (- the stamp is dated but the date is unclear). Does anyone know...
Is anyone able to lookup the names of people at the address of Ruettes Brayes, Guernsey, Channel Islands in the 1901 census. I think it might be a number of houses so hope I am not asking too much.
I am desperate to find any information regarding the death of Walter Hugh Sebire, b1880 on Guernsey. He took part in the Great War in the Royal Engineers. Was discharged in 1918 but I can find no record of him after that?
Has anyone got the hammer for this "brick wall"?
I am female and fast approaching 60. I live on a boat on the canal in East Yorkshire with hubby and cat. I have a "dongle" as my internet connection attached to an old laptop so everything to do with it goes s..l..o..w..l..y! But I get there in the end!
Look forward to a little...
