Anybody watching it?
last night was Robin Gibb, what a sad story unfold
death in the poorhouse, ragged school, etc but
look how his life turned out, do you think the people
before us shaped the life we were given?
Also the week before Alan Carr, his great grandfather
was a deserter ww1, that...
I think this one has to have a place
In Flanders Fields
by John McCrae, May 1915
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago...
Today is the first day of Autumn
What is your favourite season and why?
Mine is Spring, after the cold and dark of winter
I am always glad to see the first shoots of green
in the garden, bulbs appearing, the days lengthening
and a bit of sun coming back
I hate winter, and forecast already on...
This one is my favourite poem
written by Christina Rossetti (1830-1894)
REMEMBER me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
Found something out
Sarah Jane Frost had a daughter Ruth Frost
(I am presuming out of wedlock)
I wonder if she was still at the farm when this happened:confused:
Ruth is on 1881 census when sarah Jane is married to
Charles Oliver, sarah jane was charles second wife
he was married to Ann...
this one becomes more and more interesting
thanks for the additional info Steve
So if there is a tree no matter how small someone else has
been searching the same family:)
I will investigate:biggrin:
thanks for this extra info Dave
I did wonder why she was with grandparents on the previous census
I wondered if they were still alive, or it was just that sarah was with
her grandparents on census night
It was a big farm, all this makes up a big picture of my great great grandmas
14 year old...
Thank you all for adding to this and making a bigger picture
I can now see some family things occuring
Sarah jane frost (my great great grandma)
called her daughter cassandra (I presume taking the name from
the house where she worked)
The Cassandra (my great grandma) called her daughter Sarah...
Thank you all
I could on see what you saw p.risboy

age 14 as a house maid
It looks like it must have been a large house as there
were alot of people and staff but I can't find an address
of the house on the census
