    Handwriting Comparison

Hey there. Any budding handwriting experts out there? I have 2 offerings of handwriting but cant be sure if its from the same man...my grandfather. I can upload if there are any volunteers who can have a look and can confirm its from the same hand or not. This would mean an awful lot as at...

    Birth before marriage

Hello, ive got William on the 1871 census when he was still living at home, he got married the following year to Isabell Harriet Lockie. He is easy to track, with birth etc. I agree. Ive searched for Beard, Biard, but not been able to come up with any info on Isabell....its quite frustrating as...

    Birth before marriage

AAAh it may be that Isabell was adopted by William, further search shows Harriet was married before to a James Beard, assuming he died sometime between 1852 and 1857.

    Birth before marriage

No info on mothers maiden name anywhere, she was born in West London in July 1853. On census records for her marriage she is labelled as Isabell and Gabrell (Williams handwriting wasnt very clear sometimes. She was married on April 14 1872 and the parish is Bethnal Green, St James the Great

    Birth before marriage

Here's a tricky one. Isabell Harriett Lockie was born July-Aug-Sept 1853. Her dad was William Henry Lockie. She married William Bennett in 1872 (context for the question)...ok so far then it gets tricky. According to research her dad William Henry was a bachelor according to the marriage...

The beauty of double checking research....I picked the wrong Joseph on my initial search for 1952-1953, when you posted about the possible death I rechecked and its a different Joseph at a different address...I should've twigged. Thanks.

OOOOHHHH that would put him as being 19 when he married in 1917, I was thinking he might have been born between 1890-1900 as he married in 1917 so thats very possible, only snag is he was still alive in 1953 as far as I can tell but he was deceased at the time of Kathleen marriage in 1955. Can I...

I dont have the cert yet, will be ringing the GRO monday for that and another I need so hopefully that will give the fathers names at least - so I can then use that info. An interesting fact discovered trawling through the electoral rolls in 1957 it shows Patrick living with a Kathleen M...

I really appreciate the help, im just going through the electoral roles for Joseph myself. I have tried contacting the company that bought out the Lewis Trust but they couldn't or wouldn't help me in my research, which is a great shame.
