Thanks! That's good to know - though Emma married Robert Edward BROCKMAN in 1869 in Thanet.....so you might think this wasn't the right Thomas SUTTON if, in fact, he was the "first love" who was killed in the lifeboat incident.
As an aside - I do know the actual Folkestone Lifeboat Station wasn't in place at the timeframe I'm discussing - but still think it might be possible that somewhere along there is where the accident specified in the family lore took place. And since the family lore cannot always be thought to be...
