    Births wrong?

I found some births on LDS, it was going wellbut then I noticed one of the dates was completely wrong. They had the parent being born after the child? I thought I could make a wild guess and say around 20 between them. But as I went futher back it through all the others out. What should I do?

Yes Margaret (mother) was called Heugh. I have Janet, Archibald, Margaret births, but not Mary or James. On IGI I cant find any more children belonging to Robert Donaldson and Margaret Heugh ? Its really weird.

Yes its the eldest two, Mary and James that I can't find birth records for, and yet they are on the census. I am confused, why would the siblings births be registered but not those two ?

I have found Robert Donaldson and wife Margaret on the 1851 and 1861 census living in Bathgate West Lothian (Robert died 1865). The children are listed as Mary c1836 James c1838, Margaret 1842, Archibald 1845, Jessie/Janet 1851. I have managed to find the births on the IGI for the last 3...

sorry been a while (had problems accessing site) Names of witnesses are John Weatherall (father?) and Sarah Weatherall. I now think I have found family on 1881 census , as it says on cert that father was a joiner.Which is what it says on census, I do think that was Ann on the census as a niece...

    It hasn't helped

I recently bought the marriage cert of my g. grandmother in the hope it would help me find the names of her parents. The fathers name is on cert as John Weatherall, Ann (g.grandmother) was born 1867? says on cert she married in 1887 aged 20yrs. I have been trying to find her on 1871 census, but...

    Headstone

I went to Hampstwaite a few days age, and found this headstone which relates to some of my ancestors. Unless I am reading it wrong, the dates for the daughters death don't add up? The mother and fathers dates are fine, but I have the daughter as death 1896, which makes her 27 yrs (which is what...

    Photo

I also wondered whether it was a studio. I just assumed because they lived on a farm (if it is the Skaife's) that it was taken outside. I can see something in the foliage, I thought it looked like a reflection (a 'flash') Would you not get a 'flash' from the camera, would it not reflect off...

    Skaife?

Whoops  sorry I really don't know where I got that from. Looks like he was in his 70's when he died. The children I have listed are slightly different to yours. William 14th Aug 1783 Smith 20th Jan 1785 Robert 13th Feb 1786 Pally 8th April 1787 Ailsey 16th March 1788 Willy 26th July...

Hi juliejtp, unfortunately the only thing on the back of the pic are some numbers in pencil 68569 (don't suppose that means anything?) Pat the photo appears to be in layers on the back. the edges have been 'worn' away, on one side edge(all thats left) it looks like a white/cream border. The...

Is there a chance it could be earlier. The male in the photo (who I think it could be) would be at least 60yrs old (for 1885) and I don't think he looks that old. I know people usually looked older than their yrs in those days.(their clothes, hair etc)
