Here's the 1885 NJ Census. What is confusing is that there is a "James" that is there with John, Louisa and their son John. He has to be related to John, maybe brother
You have been wonderful!!! Question away. I have to go over and take care of my mother for the next 3 hours, she has dementia, but will jump right on it when I get home.
Thanks the being so proactive in helping me. So many Curries, Currys.... makes me nuts and hard to figure out right person.
Would you believe I am working on it right now. I found a John Currie who was the father of George B Currie born in 1815, who has a wife Mary Ann. I see if I can find answers to what you asked.
Wow, thanks. Four eyes are better than one.
Yes, I understand. I have been looking in Philadelphia. I do know of a relative, a Nicholas Currie who's father was George Boyed Currie that lived in New Jersey. I have been trying to find out who George Boyed's father was because possibly he was a brother to John.
I really appreciate your...

My...
Thanks everyone. It looks like you found my tree, lol. I appreciate everyone's hard work.
I guess I will have to assume what I have is right and keep searching.
The above Philadelphia Passenger list is the one I settled on for his identity....but I do not know if it is accurate. I didn't know if any passenger records existed in the UK as to when they left for the US
When looking at the records, if I recall, there were so many names John Currie or Curry. I was hoping that I could find a place of birth, like you asked. It's so maddening, ha ha. I have been trying for 2 1/2 years to figure out which person is the right one.
I appreciate your help, I truly do.
No it doesn't, I wish it did. Every census I find in the US states father lived in Scotland, mother in Ireland. I have been trying to find ways to ascertain if he had siblings so I could search that way but there are so many John Currie's in Scotland it is impossible.
If you have access to...
John W. Currie - I am uncertain if his middle initial is "W" was born in Scotland.
The above named was the father of John W. Currie born in Pennsylvania, USA in 1876. His wife was allegedly Louisa McIntyre, who was previously married to a Cornelius Hadnot. The US Census' state that John's...
