    The Elliott's/Clarke's!

You've been a great help Woodlander, it seems we were very much into the coal mining industry, and it's been intriguing to see that there are most probably many Elliott's around, possibly still living in Wales, who are related to me. I have just two more questions - is there any information on...

    The Elliott's/Clarke's!

My bad, thought you meant he was born in 1901, not a census result from 1901! Thanks for the help woodlander, much appreciated. There is starting to become a very large and confusing amounts of Samuels! Charlie,

    The Elliott's/Clarke's!

    That's the wrong Samuel Elliott woodlander, on the second/third post :P It's 1881 - 8, not + :D haha, Cheers though,

    The Elliott's/Clarke's!

Right, just trying to see how far FORWARDS I can come with these relations of mine, and possibly see if I've got any living relations I didn't know about. But, any data from the 1891/1901/1911 census's on any of these individuals would be great. You're welcome to just pick which of these...

Edward Elliott - My great great grandfathers twin.

Sounds about right Trace... no kids then? :'( Right, that's one more line I can cross out. Charlie. (Right, I think I'm just gonna start a thread, and list all the male elliott's, and let people just pick and choose, haha)

Cheers Julie, thanks for the information. Fee's are always out of the question for me though, but you weren't to know :) Charlie,

    Great Truths.

What's so bad about teenagers?! I'm 16, and I'm sure my mum loves raising me :2fun:

Edward Elliott - My great great grandfathers twin.

What I know at the moment is that Edward was born in 1865, and as a child it says he is from Bettws, Carmarthen, however, his twin brother, when older, puts his birth place down as Swansea, Glamorganshire. This is the info I have right now: I'm most interested in working forwards in time, and...

    1871/1881/1891 Census Lookup

It would seem that it's incredibly hard to prove that Samuel Elliott had any children between Jane in 1853, and Thomas/Edward in 1865 - as the person who Dave has got me in touch with who has done extensive research into the Elliott line, is also unable to find records of any other children...

    1871/1881/1891 Census Lookup

I didn't know about Jane... so wait, Samuel had more children than the ones in the 1871 and 1881 census? Is this to say thatSamuel had more children than just these?? He had a lot of children, if so. Right now, I'm still finding it incredibly difficult to understand... Maud Elliott was with...

    1871/1881/1891 Census Lookup

I'll try to figure out all you've posted in a minute and piece it together, but this may interest you... someone from another site sent this to me, before you confirmed John Elliott as being related to me. Right now, I'm very confused, if you could help me peice this all together, I'd be very...

    I gave you that Nose

Height runs in my family, I am one of the shortest male elliott's around, being only 6 foot tall (I'm 16, bear in mind). My father is the shortest of his 3 brothers, being only 6'1, with the tallest being 6'6. Grandad Elliott is 6'1, and I believe his father to be have been over 6' also, with...

Trying to disprove that I'm welsh...

I do recall someone telling me that most Elliott's outside of Scotland tend to be from Devon... think it may have been on another forum. To be honest, I'm just happy that I'm able to trace my family back another couple generations :) This has been happy hunting :D Charlie,

Trying to disprove that I'm welsh...

David, why do you think I'm here?? - To get other people to do research for me, of course ;) Haha, just kidding, In my house somewhere we have a book all about the history of the Elliott clan in Scotland, and we certainly do sound like one of the better clans (course, I'm bound to be bias)...

Trying to disprove that I'm welsh...

Ah, who knows, if I go back far enough I'm sure we might end up being Scottish. However, on that note, I did once read a handbook about the Scottish Elliot clan, and they claimed to know of all the different spelling variations of Elliot, but that the "double l and double t", they know not where...

Trying to disprove that I'm welsh...

Everyone here has been extremely helpful so far in my quest to find out who my ancestors are, apart from they've mainly proved to me that the Elliott's are very welsh, and were welsh until at least the early 1800's. That's the end of my days laughing at welsh people :( Fortunately, you've...

    Alice Louisa Clarke b. 1866

Oznannie, Maud Elliott is Thomas and Alice Elliott's daughter :), she must have been staying at her Aunt's on the day of the 1901 Census. And oz, I'm not sure about it being a double wedding, but it's very much a possibility which I'd like to look into. EDIT: I know of Emily/Selina's...

    Alice Louisa Clarke b. 1866

Is it possible to find (Emily) Selina and Clara Clarke's whereabouts on the night of the 1881 census?

    Alice Louisa Clarke b. 1866

Haha, this is great! My great-great grandad Thomas Elliott was living with Alice Elliott by 1891, at 18/19 Diamond street! They moved 8/9 places down the street for their new home once wed, brilliant. Both John Clarke and Thomas Elliott are in the railway business, also... and if Dave's theory...

    Alice Louisa Clarke b. 1866

Right, now I'm slightly confused. Dave has listed one "Selina Clarke", does this mean she dropped a name for the census right, and went by her middle name? William Hall is definitely listed as marrying Emily Selina Clarke, who is born around 1962, just like the Selina Clarke in the 1871 census...
