Crane was definetly the married name of Sarah or at least the name she gave her son but as we don't know her husband's name I can only hope that she was in fact married. Mike

Thanks for your efforts; after asking the family we only came up with Sarah being born about 1802 and possibly being in Smithfield/Holburn around 1841 but now some doubt as to the date of the birth of Charles. Hope this helps Thanks, Mike
