    Sash significance?

Yeah I am coming up blank too. I checked what his occupation was in the early part of 1900 and he is listed as being a steam engineer. I might see what he was doing 10 years previous. I can't see why the railway would have sashes? I may check the newspapers to see if he had done something...

    Sash significance?

His name was George Henry James Hubert - he came from a long line of watermen but wasn't one himself I don't think. I am off to do a search on the watermen guild but nit sure what the PCN would be. The medallion he is wearing must also be something special.... Is there still a military form in...

One whose parents areclisted as Thomas and Esther married in miles turner in 1854 so doubtful that it could be the woman who birthed as Branton in...

Three generations, 5 people who did not die??

It is confusing because the double up of lenas. But yes the summary is correct, a Lena Ellen Gray born in 1886 in Canada with a father named Charles listed in the 1891 and 1901 Canadian census. Four years after that official record, the next official record of a Lena Ellen Gray is in London...

Three generations, 5 people who did not die??

Hi everyone, to add more info - the 1901 Canadian census list Lena Ellen Gray born in 1886 and with a father named Charles. The wedding cert I found for george and Lena had her age being in line with being born in 1886 and his in 1883 (matches his birth cert). Her full name is given as lena...

    Photo attachments???

Nope, the icon above the paper clip with the cross through it is the smilie icon button. Next to that is the reverse arrow. Perhaps it is an iPad issue? Anyone else had this problem? I can't even copy/paste into the body of the text. Not happy.

Three generations, 5 people who did not die??

Hi, I have a ancestor whose name was Harriett Branton who birthed a son in 1856 called Henry in shoreditch workhouse according to the cert. Henry 'married' a lady called Mary (Pine) before 1881 - not that I can find a marriage cert - but they appear in the 1881 census with a daughter Elizabeth...

Sorry Dave but is the edit box (or this forum)suitable to iPad as I can not see what you are talking about. My edit box has fonts, sizes, colour of text, smilies, weblinks etc but the icon that looks like a paperclip has a big red cross thru it and it won't do anything. There are more smilies...
