    Calling all Harrington family members

Hello Ray It's very exciting to hear from you. It has been sometime since I have visited this site. I am sure your family tree and mine are linked. I believe your Grandmother was married to Bert Lowe (hence your name) and her brother Sydney (with a y) was my Grandfather. That makes us 2nd...

    Calling all Harrington family members

Dear John Sorry for the delay in replying to your post. I'm afraid I do not recognise any of the names you give and therefore have no evidence for a connection between your Harrinngton's and mine. Sorry, I can not be more helpful. Kind regards, Sarah.

Emma Trodd, Weston, St Mary's Extra

Hello everyone. To confirm GP's info. Kennith Trodd decends from John and Martha Trodd. Most Trodd trails seem to link us via this couple. Their daughter Harriett Trodd b. 1811 married George Pennicott. Before her marriage I suspect she had Benjamin Trodd b. 1842. Benjamin (above) married...

Thanks for checking that out hammy. Yes, happy to go with that like you Maggie. Im sure I've seen John Chitty's name somewhere before. Will have to go over my notes. No one has ever got back to me about the trees. Might try again.

Have tried to contact owners of said trees, waiting for replys. No Baps or marriage for William or Jane but their children are listed as John, Elizabeth, Rodger, Joseph, Jane and Amelia. The Dagwell senario could be a possibility. Will keep everyone posted as and when I find out more.

Gotcha! But thanks for trying. Have done some investigating myself. There is a place called Stave Hill in Rotherhithe, built over much of what used to be Stave Dock of the Surrey Commercial Docks. So I am assuming he most likely worked at this Dock as a Porter. Thank you for sharing the book...

Hi GP, Searching on behalf of a family member, I came across a male 48yr old's profession recorded as a "Stave Porter" in Rotherhithe, London in 1851. Can you help? And would love to know the title of your book. Regards Sarah.

    Mallory introduction

Hi Mallory, I am researching my uncle's tree. He has the surname Sewell in his tree. They appear to be based in the London area, Rotherhithe, Bermondsey, St Olave and Southwark, 1860 - 1930's. Further back they appear to be in Deptford, Kent. More specifically, three generations of William...

    Elusive gr grandmother

Hi Maudie, Just a thought, but have you checked you definately have the right info for 1891. The reason you can't find a death could be because she didn't die (or sepearate) and you have the wrong George Grant and new wife in 1891. I would double check your info for this census. It is all too...

Emma Trodd, Weston, St Mary's Extra

So, Maggie, Can you just clarify for me. Do we think the John and Martha Trodd (Catcheler) married 1912 are NOT our John and Martha. And is this John Trodd, (the one with the twin brother Richard and father Thomas), NOT our John ancestor? Sorry, just need to get it straight in my head...

Emma Trodd, Weston, St Mary's Extra

Hi Maggie, I'm great thanks. Looking forward to a break from the normal routine next week. My gut feeling is their names are a coincidence, that they are not the same couple but they are probably related in some way. More digging needed, Im afraid. I'm still waiting on a birth cert for a...

Emma Trodd, Weston, St Mary's Extra

Hi Maggie, It's good to hear from you. How are you? I'm afraid I can't help you. Don't know this John and Martha. Where is Warblington? Is it anywhere near St Mary extra? I guess John and John could be cousins, but to find out you would have to go back further and discover a possible grandfather...
