hi, im looking for information regarding the marriage of Joseph Stannard and Sarah Wilkinson . they lived in Badingham Suffolk after their marriage , their first child was born in 1810. by the 1841 census sarah was dead (1837 baddingham) so im unable to find where she came from. the only...

    Mary Ann Easey

yeah ive seen william was a shoemaker, the census tells us that too. i wonder if the laxfield parish registers are missing or not transcribed online, as i expect thats where mary ann was christened, and william and ann were married both in the 1790's. i can find no birth for ann easey/easy...

    Mary Ann Easey

ahhh.... hold on.. 1851 William Bickers 73 [b. Baddingham. Shoemaker] Ann Bickers 97 [b. Dunwich] Harriot Bickers 51 dau [b. Laxfield] Harriot Casey 37 g'dau [do] Adefed Bochert 20 g'dau [do] i think thats 'my' mary anns eldest child, born in 1812, its not 'casey' but 'easey' and would be anns...

    Mary Ann Easey

well the unconfirmed marriage does add up to the census's. im happy enough to accept it with caution. i cannot find a christening for ann easey in dunwich in the 1750's, and as shes over 40 when she married william bickers, maybe it was her second marriage - her first being to an easey. and...

    Mary Ann Easey

thats interesting.... what is a 'not validated' marriage?... one they might have lied about? ann would be over 40 when she married william bickers with him being 20 years younger... sounds odd to me. how can this ever be checked out? mind you if ann was a lose woman its no wonder that her...

    Mary Ann Easey

hello everyone, my mother was well pleased with the family tree i gave her on crimbo day - many thanks to all who helped my research . :) im now stuck on another line, this time its Mary Ann Easey who the census tells me was born in Laxfield, Suffolk in about 1791. she appeared to have had a...

    Elizabeth Cliffton

the derby office isnt far, but a pain to park, they dont hold as many records as the matlock office which is a way to go just for a few bits. ive got the cliffords back to the mid 1600's plus several spouses lines too. ive about run out now without wishing to look too far - im most happy with...

    Elizabeth Cliffton

site or location?... i use the igi and find my past. all this is local to me so i know where the locations are and how likely they are to be 'right'. i got back to 1560 on the vickers line :) cant find anything out about samuel foulds.... more investigation needed but im running out of...

YES! ..... vickers was elizabeths grandmothers maiden name. elizabeths parents samuel and ann, anns parents were richard and catherine, they married in spondon in 1794, richard clifford and catherine vickers. that now confirms the line many thanks for that! now samuel foulds! lol

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH now i can find no birth for samuel foulds in 1796 in woodhouse eves leicestershire! i wonder whether he changed his name? oh lord... brain fried!

    Elizabeth Cliffton

oh i do agree it looks very interesting, not sure though why they used the mothers maiden name and not the fathers.... the birth of george does list her as 'clifford'. in fact, looks likely :) thank you very muchly guys... :)

    Elizabeth Cliffton

nope..... not yet, it seems odd to invent it as a double christian name, i think its possible, like fanny, to be a clifford family name. its not a hill name, i know that!

    Elizabeth Cliffton

no, 41... i have her after her marriage to my g g grandfather :)

    Elizabeth Cliffton

ok after a bit of checking.... NOPE this isnt 'my' elizabeth clifford. this one was christened in november 1817, in aston (shardlow where they lived didnt have a church then, they used nearby aston). i cannot believe future dob would be 10 years out, and 8 odd miles out. samuel lived at...

hold on a mo..... (was out all day yesterday, hence only a breif look) those ages are suspicious! were they REALLY all born to the nearest 5 year? lol

    Elizabeth Cliffton

hmmm possible, i have to investigate further and see if theres a link to spondon and 'fanny' . ive found a lot of discrepancy in ages, but never 7 years! i agree its a possibility but there are questions i need to find the answers to before im confident enough to delve back further.
