Hi Dave Any indications of Henry and Ellen having any USA connections as Wells as a middle name for Robinsons seems to have been in extensive use way back then.

Hi Dave Great research all in a few hours. Because they realised they were cousins they shouldn’t or couldn’t marry and Edward was illegitimate. Still doesn’t resolve the Wells name? But it may explain why he has caused us so much trouble in finding him.

I have a baptism for Mary ann 1796 and Ellen 1830 both in Sawbridgeworth. Must be relatedsomehow?

Hi Dave I believe Mary Ann's father was John Bush and Ellen's father is William. Could John and William be brothers born a number of years apart?

Hi All Thanks for the prompt action. One of the problems I found is that there are so many Edward Robinsons and even Edward W. The only place I have been able to match the middle name WELLS is in Australia.
