Hi there,

Am new to this site so hello to everyone. Am looking forward to the new world of family history.

I am starting off by trying to find out about my husbands grandfather who served in the 11th London regiment during WW1. We know nothing of his service history and have no photos. The only items we have are his medals.

His name was George Charles Brush and was born in London in 1896.

Does anybody have any info about the regiment that we may find of interest.

Many thanks

Ann Gibbs

Hi Ann,

A warm welcome to FHUK.

Have you looked for his service record? though it not survived the WW2 bombings. Post his details and will have a look for you.

Hi and Welcome

If this is his Medal Card,

George C Brush
Regiment or Corps: 11th London Regiment, Labour Corps
Regimental number: 1735, 362454

Then there are some service records on Ancestry for a George C Brush (No 362454.)

Many thanks for your replies. I have now managed to locate his
army files. What interesting reading it was to read about the man I only knew in his feeble old years.

Looking forward to finding out lots more about him and his family
