Hi

I'd be grateful if anyone can help me with tracing the following people in the 1841 census:

John Hansel(l), bc1816 Ormesby, Yorks
Jane Hansel(l), bc1819 Crathorne, Yorks
Thomas Hansel(l) bc1841 ??

Jane's maiden name was Humble (sometimes recorded as Hummel) - are there any Humble/Hummel families in Crathorne at this time?

Thanks in anticipation.

Frank

Hi
No luck with census, but there are 27 'Humble' baptisms in Crathorne between 1813 & 1875.
8 Baptisms between 1731 & 1875

1841
John Hansell 20 Yes Shoemaker
Jane 20 Yes
William 1 Yes
living in Ormsby

In 1851 John is a Cordwainer which matches, but child is William not Thomas as expected

marriage to Jane Humell A/J 1939 Guisborough ref 24/349

EDIT - there is a tree on A------y which gives Thomas's birth as 1842

Thnaks to all who have contributed information - it's definetly the right family and I'm now adding the details to my tree.

Your help has been greatly appreciated.

Kind regards
Frank
