1844 Dublin Marriage License Query

I have found a record of a Marriage by License in 1844 between Dennis Dove (a British soldier) and Caroline Cochrane in the 'Dublin, Ireland, Probate Record and Marriage License Index, 1270-1858'. I am trying to find out more details about this marriage, particularly if Caroline was Irish. Does anyone know how I can find out any further details about this marriage. If they married by license does that mean they would not have had a proper marriage certificate at this time? I'd appreciate any advice. Thank you

These would make Caroline born c1826 Ireland.

Caroline in 1881, no Dennis...

I can't seem to find a corresponding record in civil registration for this marriage - do you have any ideas on that? I am keen to get a marriage certificate if I can to find out about Caroline's father is possible.

According to one site
Civil registration of all births, marriages, and deaths in Ireland began in 1864
(except for non-Catholic marriages, for which registration started in 1845)

Civil registration of non RC marriages in Ireland started on 1st April 1845. This marriage was before that so the only record is the church record. Those records did sometimes contain the fathers names (especially by the 1830s and 1840s) but I don’t think it does in this case as it would probably be listed on the irishgenealogy transcript.
