Hi All, wonder if there's any way to find out this information:-
The above census has listed the following:-
Evan Evans (39 yrs) born c1812 at Llanarth, Cardigan
Elizabeth Evans (37 yrs) born c 1814 at Pembrey, Carmarthenshire
Children:- Elizabeth (15); Jane (10); William (5); Henry (3); and John (1 month):

It has always been my understanding that Elizabeth's maiden name was Lawrence, but some-one on 'anc' seems to think it could be Griffith? Elizabeth is my 2x great grandmother and in 1881 was bringing up my grandfather who was just over 1 year old. After she passed away in 1886, Thomas Lawrence listed as uncle to my grandfather brought him up. So I assumed that Elizabeth and Thomas were related as both were born in Pembrey. It now seems the name Lawrence is very UNCOMMON in Pembrey at that time! Is there any way of finding out Elizabeth's maiden name or any Lawrence's in Pembrey for this census and even 1861 & 1871?
Sorry to be such a pain - us Evans's don't have any straight forward family trees or history!
Iechydd
