Thank You.
Hi Lightly, unable to trace Hannah on the 1861 census. 1871 census as follows:-

civil parish Monkswearmouth, reg dist Sunderland, sub reg dist Monkswearmouth.

Ellen Doy age 3 months dau born Washington
James Doy age 36 born Rudham Norfolk occ coal miner
Hannah Johnston age 29 occ housekeeper born Cawston Durham her maritial status is unclear on the census (looks like married? to me).

Cheers Julie,
Whoooo looks like they were living over the brush it said she was the housekeeper to save face, she must have married James not long after.

James Doy (b East Rudham, Norfolk) married Hannah Johnson (nee Bunting) in 1871. I have a copy of their marriage certificate.

Hannah had previously been married to John Johnson (Johnston). I have found no children from this marriage.

James had been previously married to Isabella Wilson and their child, Robert, died as a baby followed swiftly by Isabella (we think as a result of childbirth).

James's and Hannah's first child, Ellen, died as a baby.

Hannah was born at Cassop, Co Durham on 1 May 1842. On one occasion only her surname was spelled as Bounton but the family was Bunting.
