Hi there,

Please could someone look in 1871 census for :

John Roberts Born abt 1812 Ports, Hampshire

I have him in 1881 census as Seaman Pensioner, and his wife as Ann, a Laundress. They had two sons, William and Charles in 1839 and 1842 respectively in Bramshaw, Hampshire.

Many thanks
Regards
Jackie
P.S. I have requested a lookup as well on 1861 board

Is there an address of where the census took place for this family or occupations listed?
Am sure this is them, but need to see them with children to confirm. I have Charles Roberts born 1842 with parents John Roberts and Ann. Only marriage i could find in Hampshire was John Roberts to Ann Gough in 1837 Newbury, Hamp. There was only one other for John Roberts, but to a Helen or Mary in 1839.
I know that Charles was in the Kings Own Royal Regiment in 1871 as a private aged 29 years, so perhaps he had gone prior to 1861??
His brother William was only 2 1/2 years younger, could he perhaps have followed??

Regards
Jackie
