Thanks Geoff.

The 1861 says unmarried and death entry with only one surname would fit that. There was no Armstrong among the married ones I found in FreeCEN.

There may be 3x Barbara McClure in Glencairn.

The one in 1841 with Sarah. One born abt 1800 in Dunreggan Village and one born abt 1805 in Main St, Glencairn.

One an Ag lab and the other a domestic servant.

The Barabara in 1851 and 1861 both have same parish/piece no. Though I guess it's possible there may be 2x in that parish?

I think we have 3x Geoff.

1861 is Main St and Ag Lab and unmarried.

The one with Mary Armstrong is in Dunreggan and servant or former dom servant.

Yes. :)

Now I don't know if we have 2x or 3x. At least I know that's not Sarah's mother.

Can't find a birth for Mary around 1844.

So, no wiser re Sarah's parents.

Dunno Geoff.

Going by address and occupations it looks like 3x but the one alone in 1861 is listed as unmarried.

Say Sarah is with her grandmother in 1841. That John in 1841 may or may not be Sarah's father.

The 1859 marriage has her father deceased but mother not listed as such.

Looking at some of the smaller trees, there is one that has John Dunkeld b. 1779 Keir married or linked to a Margaret Harkness who married a James Robb/Webb in Irteland. That party gets complicated

Interestingly though one of the dau's, Mary Dunkeld, marries a James Gordon and has a son, James Dunkeld Gordon b. 1831 Glencairn.

Geoff

EDIT: James was married in Balmclennan, fits with 1851 for place

Thanks Geoff.

I can't find 1851 on FreeCEN to see if Mary Dunkeld is single or a widow and has reverted to her maiden name.

I can't find a birth for James Gordon. Or the marriage.

FreeCEN does not seem to have the list it used to have of what has been transcribed.

Yes it does. It moved the location. 1841 and 1861 100% and 1851 0%

No sign of the marriage to Gordon or the birth of James.
