Susan and George are my GG Grandparents. I know they had a daughter Georgina she is my grandfathers mother. I have Georginas Marriage and death certificate and my grandfathers Birth certificate.

Re: hocknull/tuck

hi elaine what do you need to know on the hocknulls i have loads of info annie was my nan get in touch

Hi Jayne,
My great grandmother is Georgina Hocknull. I have lots of information on her.
I'm trying to find out what happened to her husband Cyril. He left when my grandfather was approx 8 yrs his mother Georgina Died when he was 10.
Do you know if he left when Georgina was ill, or any info on how long she was ill for. I know that she had 5 children someone said she had 7. I have spoken to the family they all only know of 5.
Do you know if she had 7 children if so do you know what happened to them?
Please keep in touch.

Elaine.

Hi Jane thankyou for that information. Georgina was born in 1888 she married Cyril in 1913 she had five children Cyril born 1913, Lawrence born 1915 , Emily but known as Margaret born 1916 and then she had Twins William(Bill) John(Jack) born 1919.
Cyril left when my grandfather was aprox 8. I dont know when Georgina Became ill , My Grandfather remembered when he was about 10 his mother being tacken away in an ambulance covered in blood she died in 1923 from Bowel Cancer such a sad story the Address on her death certificate is 62 Ryding square west Brom but she Died at 1 Western road a poor law institution i hope this helps.
who was your Annie married to and when did she marry and who are her children? Also are you on Genes Reunited i sent a message to a Jane on there connected to an Annie because this site plays about and it wont always let me sign in . Hope to hear from you soon with regards Elaine

Hi Jayne I have some more info of Georgina`s Addresses,
on the 1911 Census Georgina was living at 114 Oakfield Road Selly Park as a House Maid (Domestic) she was 22.

Then when my Grandfather was born on 22nd August 1913 their Address was 4 Gleave road Selly oak.
Lawrence known as Larry was Born in Aston as was Emily/Margaret the twins where born in West Brom I havnt got actual addresses for them yet,
I hope you got my other Message about Georgina.

hi elaine thanks for that info my god she obviously suffered alone,i mean selly oak aint just round the corner from the family,in 1911 the family were living at 62 rydding square so she obviously went to stay with her parents who had the children when she died, from what youve told me about her husband and i dont know a lot about him but he obviously was a bit of a rat to leave as ive found he remarried in 1925 to a constance v davis in dudley 1925 i will try to find out where she is buried, i would imagine that it would be in west bromwich,my nan was annie born 1908 she married joseph archer in 1932 there kids were my dad colin aug 1933 patricia 1942 and warren born 1946,did you know about william hocknull 1898 that he died at the somme i have his casualty details and cemetry details if you havnt already got them, also elaine i have some info on the broughton family if your interested and yea i have been on genes but not for a while but will look to see if i can find you,ill see what i can find out for you about cemetery details will be in touch soon elaine byeeeee

Hi Jayne
I think calling Cyril a rat was putting it lightly,I could have found a few choice words more suited to him.
My Grandfather didnt talk much about his childhood or his up bringing,Is all he said was his dad left when he was 8yrs old and that he didnt like his name because it was the same as his father. He also remembers his mum being taken away in an ambulance covered in blood this must have been when she became ill,I think they where living in west Brom then because that was where the twins where born they where only 4 when she died.
My grandfather was then Brought up by 2 Aunties 1 of which was Polly i know that because grandad did mention that but im not sure which other one and he was also looked after in a childrens home but im not sure which one that im still to find out.I keep in touch with my mums cousin John Broughton he is Lawrence son he is also doing the family tree i guess your dad is my mum and Johns 2nd cousin. John said that his dad told him that Cyril went out to buy a sports jacket and never came back that was the last he heard or saw of him, I think Georgina became ill and didnt want to be left with the children and he left.
that would be great if you could post copies of williams casualty details and cemetery details if you want copies of Georginas Marriage certificate and death certificate i will get you coppies also i know its a cheek but do you have any photos of the Hocknulls ie Georgina and her sisters and brothers parents maybe it would be nice to see any family resemblances im also doing my family tree in photo form hope to speak to you soon Elaine

hi again elaine ive spoke to my aunty today and shes guna look to see if she has any photos but the one i told you about thinking it was my nan my aunty says it might be georgina cuz she did have 1 of her and she thinks it might be the 1 but shes guna check to see if she as it and whichever 1 it is i will get my mate to show me how to get it to you through the web or ill send it to you mate, also my aunt says she remembers nan (annie) and either emma or edith going to birmingham to the kids home in 1963 and bringing the kids back but they went back she thinks they wernt comfortable there but she says they could have possibly gone to pollys so shes guna ask her cousin if she remembers them coming to their home but i know they never kept in touch after that which is a shame, she is also guna look to see if she as any family photos speak to you soon mate hope this helps,oh still trying to find out where she was buried speak to you soon
