Thanks Geoff.

Bexley/Rockdale is a best guess.

Sands Directory
James Chambers Missenden Rd [118] in 1918, but not 1919.

That 1913 is the only ref to middle name Richard. Not in marriage or death reg or death notices.

Actually, that is not James.

The address would be correct. But, I don't have 1903.

Son William John
Enlisted Sydney Showground 8 Nov 1916 - S/N 4750 30th Bn - William 23 yrs 11 mo born Enmore, NSW Labourer - NOK father Chambers James living at 118 Missenden Rd Camperdown, NSW - Embarked Sydney HMAT A68 'Anchises' 24 Jan 1917 - Served in France - GSW to head - Returned to Australia per HT 'Margha' 7 Mar 1919 - Discharged 18 Apr 1919

It's possible 'Margaret' is also not the wife of James but the wife of a son.

We looked at this family on the Deaths board.

In May 1918 James was living at 9 Brighton Ter, Grand Pde, Brighton-le-Sands, NSW.

No mention of hospital.

The Sydney Morning Herald - Saturday 9 June 1928 p.14
DEATHS
CHAMBERS.-June 1, 1928, James Chambers, late of 317 Bay-street, Brighton-le-Sands, beloved father of Jim, Alice, Joe, Fred, and Will, aged 76 years.

CHAMBERS James Funeral notice 04JUN1928 Funeral late of Brighton-le-Sands SMH 04JUN1928

I'll look for 1903 next time I'm at the library.

Thanks Rupert.

Probably no help but he was an engine fitter in England when he was young. I have nothing re occupation for him around 1913.

I'd say he should have been at the Missenden address. So not on the roll.
