Thanks Val.

There are some errors in the index. This is one entry on the Victorian fiche at the SLNSW.

1870 FITZWATER Alice Maria (b. NSW) & SLOMAN George #1494

I didn't have the details of Alice's death.

Seems the informant got Martha's mother's name wrong.

When you copy name off page and paste it shows [Thornley Alf red]
He can be found if you search Alfred with the gap.
Same as copying Marrickville-Marrickville reads MARIMOMME—mhateiornuir

I have sent numerous emails to NSW BMD over the past 9 months and have never had a satisfactory reply to any query.

I've asked if the date in the index is the date of registration and was told there is no such date. I have dozens of copies of NSW records that clearly show a date of registration.

I've asked why some dates in the index are dates that don't exist - eg. 31 September, and was told I had to purchase a copy to get the correct date even though the BMD caused the error in the first place.

You get a standard reply that tells you how to use the site implying you have no idea what you are doing and that it's NOT possible by entering specific dates to get the date of the event. The site very clearly allows the user to enter a specific day and month and year.
