MR. C. D, STEPHEN.
An old, well-known Adelong Identity, Mr. Claude Hamilton Stephen, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. T. Winterbottom, Roma, Queensland, recently. Mr. Stephen was born In Adelong in 1869. One brother, William, predeceased him about five years ago, and two brothers, Percy and John survive. Mr. Stephen married a Miss Thompson, a sister of the famous jockey, Harry Thompson, and she survives him. Members of his family are Mrs. Harle and Mrs.D. Bardwell (Tarcutta) ; Mrs. Winterbottom (Roma, Q.) ; Mrs,Bennett and Miss Constance (Sydney) ; Verginlius, Percy, and George (Sydney) and Douglas (Wagga).Mr. Stephen was employed by Messrs, Roche and Arragon for a number of years, besides training horses for Mr. T. P. Arragon, including Cerise and Blue, Lorna, Forgo, Inverlorn, Mena May, Fitz Mack. He was also an expert wool classer.

MRS. M. A. J. STEPHEN
The death occurred in a private hospital in Wagga yesterday of Mrs.Mary Agnes Josephine Stephen, of Oberne, at the age of 67 years. Mrs.Stephen was a very old and highly esteemed resident of the Adelong and Wagga districts, where she had resided all her life. She was born at Murrumburrah, and of late years had been residing with her daughter, Mrs. H. D. Bardwell of Oberne. For the last six weeks Mrs. Stephen had been in hospital in Wagga. She is survived by five sons, Messrs. Verge, of Sydney, Percy and Douglas, of Tumut; Claude, of Wagga; and George. Stephen, of Wagga; and five daughters, Mesdames H. D. Bardwell, of Oberne, T. Winterbottom, of Oberne; W. Earle, of Tarcutta, D.Bennett, of Sydney, and Miss Connie Stephen, of Sydney. Her husband, the late Mr. Claude Hamilton Stephen, died many years ago in Queensland, the funeral will move from 'St. Michael's Cathedral, Wagga, at 3.30 oclock today. for the Wagga cemetery.
