no one else in household.

The tree must be wrong - assumed the age in 1911 is correct.

It looks as though age is out and with occupation fitting it must be my Gertrude in the hotel in 1911.

I don't think there are more than 2x Gertrude Kilner born Huddersfield 1872 - 1880.

Gertrude M Kilner m. Kaye Shaw 12 June 1904 at Salterhebble. (NB this marriage is not in FreeBMD but is in All England Select Marriages on Ancestry. Gertrude's sister Sarah Jane married at Salterhebble in 1890, see next post.)

can't find Gertrude and Kaye in 1911 but 1939 they are at 11 Geneva Ave Bournmouth,

Joe and Sarah Kilner are living with their daughter & son in law Sarah Jane & Matin Battye who have been married 20 yrs.

(Sarah Jane & Martin m 6 Sept 1890 at "Salterhebble" in All England data base but image of marriage cert shows it was Emmanuel church in Shelley so that is probably where Gertrude married in 1904. Strange her marriage is not in FreeBMD)

re death of Gertrude Kilner aged 29, Huddersfield, 1910

She was buried at St John the Evangelist Newsome, 11 June 1910, address 4 Barcroft Rd Newsome.

I looked for suitable Kilner widower in 1911. There was only Harry Kilner, 32, living with his widowed mother Eliza and three sisters Julia Ann, Fanny and Ada. Found this family in 1891, the father's name was George, weaver.

Found the family in 1901, Harry was still single.

Looked for marriage 1901 - 1910 for Harry Kilner and Gertrude. Found marriage 25 Sept 1909, Gertrude Haigh, 28, & Harry Kilner, 31, father George, weaver, deceased.

So it looks like the Gertrude Kilner buried June 1910 was the Gertrude Haigh who had married Harry Kilner less than 10 month previously. (sadly)

Looks like we have now solved this one. The unmarried Gertrude Kilner with the occupation that fits but age out in 1911 is mine.

I think in 1911 she was starting to suffer from "middle aged spinster syndrome". I've seen it quite a few times, where the years just melt away and a woman of 36 sudden becomes 34!
