Hi all i'm looking for any info for Arthur Edward Mcintee 2187,Arthur was killed on 06/11/1914.CWGC has him listed on the menin gate memorial. Any info on his movements,medals ect would be greatly appreciated.Arthur was a lance corporal.

Thanks Dave i have only just found him today,I also noticed his brother served in ww1 too his name was Charles.Charles was with the northumberland fusilliers.

On his medal index card it state's Disembarkation date 13/08/14

Campaign: B.E.F. (British Expeditionary Force) 1914, an abbreviation for the force sent to the Western Front in 1914

Arthur was awarded the Victory Medal and the British Medal both with clasps.

The date he died, he would have been fighting in the First battle of Ypres in Belgium.

Only just though. I do get confused with battalions, companies etc. The site was really helpful with the breakdown of the battalion into 5 companies.

Brigades are split into Battalions
Battalions are split into Regiments
Regiments are split into Company's
Company's are split into Troops
Troops are split into Sections

Confused now??:2fun:

From lookin at the MED he must have been missing as it states assumed dead on 22/06/1915.

Regiments are split into Company's
Company's are split into Troops
Troops are split into Sections

Hi Ron I thought a Regiment has different Battalions
The Black Watch Regiment had up to 20 Battalions during the great war.

as for a Brigade they were battalions from different Regiments
and a Regiment is split into Battalions
Battalions are split into Companies
