hello

i have found a muesum for the 8th Hussars so maybe they can help you. I wrote to a muesum once for information on my great uncle who was in the sherwood foresters and they emailed me back with some info so it could be worth a try contacting this muesum.

According to the 1891 census he wasn't with the regiment in Norwich at that time, which may indicate he joined afterwards. However, I couldn't find a medal card for him, so he probably didn't serve in the First Big Mistake. So, unless he went (back?) to Ireland (the 8th being an Irish regiment), he may well have died in South Africa.

Any help?
