Hello this is my 1st Thread, i have been tracing my family/tree for some 3 years now, have collated a fair bit up to now, however my family roots in INDIA are very hard to find,!!!!!!!!!!, i know my G/G/grand/dad JAMES CHARLES KING was the BANDMASTER for the 8 th K/R/I/Hussars from 1883-1888, where he died in Meerut aged 41, alas i can find no history of the Reg/ts BAND, & their time in INDIA, i have searched the internet, googled, been in contact with the HUSSARs Museum, frustratingly not much data, i know as Fact that he was the BANDMASTER, as he passed a MUSIC/COURSE at Kneller/Hall in 1882, is there some kind soul out there who could help me out on this issue, would welcome any advise Thank You Bert 1940

My GGF was in the 8th Hussars and I was able to trace all his children born in the Uk and Ireland through *************, going into the army birth records. The entire family were all on one page although they were born between 1887 and 1904. But they were not in the normal births section at all. Definitely worth a try

Apologies for not giving the reason for the deletion. This is usually given and by who.
I/we do hope you'll forgive us.:)
