A series of 4 programs, charting the house from new, and the occupants who lived there up until now.

I have to ask myself. How or why, was this house chosen amongst all the others in Liverpool.

Part 2 was interesting.

And it only goes to show how important birth certs are, and not relying on Census returns for childrens parentage.

An Alfred Robinson had 2 illegitimate children, to a woman who was cited in his divorce in the 1870's. (The divorce never happened, for reasons unknown, even though the wifes case was a good one).
The mother of the children died soon after childbirth, so Alfred Robinson took the children into his marital home, and lived as a family with his wife in the cencus.

Forgot all about it and watched it on catch up.

Yep easy to miss that unless you check out the gro.gov website for every birth to make sure the mother's maiden name is what you think it is. Wonder how often it happened.

Well, the series has ended. The present owner of the house had a pleasant surprise with it's history.

I quite enjoyed it, and hope there are further programs to follow.

I agree - a very interesting four programmes. Coming from Liverpool, the 60's to the present day brought back some memories.

Perhaps they could pick a house in Newcastle or Durham? We get a lot about London and the Liverpool one was a refreshing change but North East would be interesting too. Or Hull.
