A quick introduction...

Hello everyone. I stumbled across this forum via a Google search.

Members of my family always say they are going to research our family history, but they never do anything about it. So I have taken it upon myself to 'get the ball rolling'.

So far i've registered at Ancestry.co.uk & Genesreunited.com (without yet taking subscriptions!) and have done a few searches at FreeBMD and Familysearch.org, but can't find out any more than I already know. Unfortunately, I only have a few names, records and family recollections to go on.

But I've had a quick look around this forum and it looks like a good place to start!

Hi Matthew welcome to the FHUK family
You will find all the members of the group very friendly and helpful, all you need to do is post your question on the appropriate forum, along with all the info you do have and we will help you find the answers you need. Start with yourself and work backwards to your parents, your grandparents etc, the best way of researching is to research one generation at a time, that way you don't get confused again welcome and enjoy your research
