Aaron senior

PEACOCK Aaron of Woodlands Mount Hill-road Mount Hill Hanham Gloucestershire market gardener died 25 May 1909 Probate Bristol 13 August to Joseph Peacock market gardener William Peacock boot manufacturer and Sarah Ann Peacock spinster. Effects £5823 16s.

Not all living children are listed there so the fact that Aaron junior is not listed does not necessarily mean he had died before his father.

Not sure where to start - it's more a case of what I can't find, rather than what I can!

I can't find a marriage for Aaron and Bessie Emily, nor can I find the births of any of their children

According to the 1861 Census Aaron was born Poil near Swansea.

The birth in 1852 in Swansea which you have found gives the mother's maiden name as Lear. Unfortunately the only marriage I can find for an Aaron Peacock to an Ursula is in Kingswood. 11/3/1849 and her surname is Hatherell. Aaron's father is Daniel, Ursula's is William

Re the birth in Swansea in 1852 - there is also a death in Swasea in 1852 for an Aaron Peacock aged under one year so could be one and the same child.

Not an easy family to follow.

Thanks Emeltee.

Yes, not an easy family with some using the name Lear. I didn't expect Lear to appear in this branch so you may have found an error in my tree.

11 Mar 1849 is the correct marriage.

Aaron and brothers were working on the railway in Wales for a few years.

The eldest son
Births Sep 1850 Peacock William Swansea 26 588

Deaths Mar 1869 Peacock William 19 Keynsham 5c 547

3rd son
Births Mar 1853 PEACOCK George Llanelly 11a 445

I still can't decide if it's the right Aaron in 1911 or not.

I can't find a death for Bessie but this looks to be the daughter.

Deaths Jun Qtr 1936
Peacock Bessie E 44 Bristol 6a 80

I think I can explain the mmn Lear for that birth and death in Swansea. That means I'm missing a birth with mmn Hatherill.

Births Sep 1850 Peacock Isaac Lear Swansea 26 581
Deaths Jun 1852 Peacock Isaac Lear Swansea 11a 281

Births Jun 1853 Peacock Elizabeth Ann Swansea 11a 439

Parents Joseph and Elizabeth Lear [Actually LEWTON but her father was born before his parents married so he married using his mother's name Lear.

Only the one birth in Swansea around 1852 for an Aaron.

Births Dec Qtr 1851
PEACOCK Aron Bridgend 26 336

That fits Pyle (Poil).

That error is fixed now. I have the right birth and 4th Aaron now in my tree.

Only the two births 1848 - 1854 for Aron/Aaron so no birth to explain Aaron age 60 born Bristol in 1911.

Naming a daughter Amy Ursula has to be a clue.

No marriage and no baptisms. Death for Bessie?

4x Bessie born Warminster 1870 - 1872.

Yes Julie.

One extra Aron/Aaron now. The mmn Lear corrected an error and added one I didn't have.

Aaron senior was in Australia in 1861.

Looks as though there is no birth reg for that Aron/Aaron who died 1924.
