Absalom could be PALMER or GAY or OSBORNE b. abt 1827 Siston

Mary Ann b. abt 1830 Oldland

Marriages Mar 1853 Keynsham 5c 1176
PALMER Absalom & PEACOCK Mary Ann

Absalom Palmer
Marriage 26 Feb 1853 Bitton St. Mary, Gloucestershire
marital status: Single
father: George Palmer
spouse: Mary Ann Peacock
spouse's marital status: Single
spouse's father: James Peacock

Births Mar 1856 PALMER Rachael W Bromwich 6b 599

Rachel is with Mary Ann's parents in Oldland in 1861 so she is no help finding Absalom and Mary Ann in 1861. No deaths found yet for either of them.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave, Rachel is still with her grandees in 1871 aged 15 cotton weaver born Hanham Gloucestershire. Her surname misspelt, someone put a correction in, 2010 to Palmer. Perhaps this person may have more info about her parents?? Or perhaps the Peacock's are in her tree? Ozn :)

Hi Ozn.

Yes, census in both years have Rachel born Bitton but she was born Staffordshire.

I've been in contact with other researchers of this family and none have any details of her parents after her birth.

It's likely Mary Ann died 1856 or soon after and that Absalom took Rachel to grandparents. I can't prove that!

Happy New Year Ozn.

George born 1790 named OSBORNE after his mother. Ann marries in 1791 and her married name becomes GAY.
George uses the name OSBORNE in 1841 but by 1851 is using GAY. George marries then marries again in 1828.
Absalom is born in 1827 so he starts off as OSBORNE, then GAY, then when he marries in 1853 he uses his mother's name PALMER.
