Hi Astwood,

He was in the RAMC Reg No 34695 Rank private
Royal engineers WR/267380 Rank sapper
" " 249324 Rank sapper

The WR stands for waterways and railways - Royal Engineers, so ROD would be correct!

HI julie
just a query
the absent voters lists are they held by librarys as i went to the westminster archives to ask for the marylebone area of London and they didnt hold them. Do you think there is a possibility the marylebone library may hold them.

Hi all well i have had no luck here no one appears to know who holds the absent voters list for marylebone. My last visit to westminster archives all they have is a voters list and all it says for my grandfather is that he is an absent voter. No other infomation on him at all it is with all voters names.
someone somewhere would sureley have this infomation. its as though my granddad doesnt want me to find out his army records.
