Don't think that is the correct one, Dave..

Anc & FMP have the ED as 33. Anc. has Abbey Burgh and FMP has Abbey Paisley. Occ = Shawl weaver. Parents = Richard & Margaret.

I've been trying to trace Archibald to see if he stays in Scotland and the ADAM - BARR family can be ruled out or if he ends up in Victoria or NSW and connects with known names there.

I don't know that the John and son Robert in post #1 are the ones that fit these two deaths ...

... therefore trying to trace Archibald to confirm or eliminate ADAM - BARR.

That Robert is the son of that John.

Does not say only surviving son. Also, if it's the right John he had another son who died young by his 2nd wife.

Archibald may have died 1851 - 1854 with no record of burial on SP.

I can't prove it is the right family. Age at death for John does not agree with age in 1841 census.

Any death reg on a tree for Robert who died 1880 to get Isabella's maiden name?

If it is the right family then John and Robert left Scotland before 1856.

But no death for Isabella.

Can't find a marriage or baptism for children of a John ADAM and a Jean McCRACKEN.

No baptism on SP for a John around 1829 son of John & Jean.

A calico block printer becomes a farmer. ?
