Advice please magazines & subscription website

Hi everyone,
I plan to dust off my files this year, and make more inroads on my family tree.
To help me be more organised and do better research, I wondered if anyone could suggest magazine(s), or website(s) to subscribe to, which would be useful.

The three main subscription sites are Ancestry, Findmypast and The Genealogist. They all have good and bad points and some are stronger in certain areas. All three have a two week free trial. My suggestion would be to try each one in turn to see if one in particular suits your needs. Just don't forget to cancel before the two weeks are up or you may well find yourself paying for a year's subscription.

Good free sites are familysearch, FreeBmd, FreeReg and the GRO site - just Google them as I don't have the website addresses to hand. You will have to register to use the GRO site but it's free to do so.

Can't help with the magazines as I don't buy any.
