And of course there are others:

Agnes b. abt 1832 Largs and another b. abt 1833 Largs - neither fit in my tree. There are trees for those two but not for my Agnes.

Well, I know it happens that they revert to maiden name but perhaps you can confirm that census says 'widow'.

Re the one you just posted there is a tree that says that one was born 1833 to John MALCOLM & Jean HILL and that she was a dressmaker all her life and never married so not my Agnes. The tree has her address for all previous census.

Would you like all the addresses so you can rule them out?

If the censuses in 1841 and 1891 in posts #1 and 2 are the correct ones, those above are not!

Cenus in posts #1 and #2 are the only ones I have for my Agnes b. abt 1831, daughter of John MALCOLM & Margaret SHEARER.

The census in post #7 are claimed by a tree to be those of Agnes b. abt 1833 to John MALCOLM & Jean HILL.

I've not listed any census yet for Agnes b. abt 1832.

Thanks Geoff.

Hmmmm... give me a minute or two. :)

I'll do the 1861 one first.

According to a tree (don't know yet if correct) the Janet in Inverkip is not mine but the daughter of Archibald & Janet (unknown)

In 1851 in Lanark there is Agnes the dau of Archibald & Janet and a niece as well so that's a 4th Agnes.

It points to the 1851 servant in Largs as being mine.

I haven't checked the trees on this one yet, I've just followed birthplace/occupation and family when given.

Is there a common factor for Agnes after 1841?

Dau of Jean HILL is a dressmaker 1851 - 1901.

Dau of Arch & Janet is in Ayr, Renfrew, Lanark ... should be in Barony in 1881.

We can rule this marriage out - Agnes born Lanark.

Agnes Malcolm
marriage: September 1850 New Monkland,Lanark,Scotland
spouse: David Morrison
