Looking at the children of Robert Malcolm and Agnes Millar born in NZ some have middle name Millar and others Miller.

In 1851 the Malcolm family were living at 55 Cavendish St.

In 1861 the Miller [as transcribed] family were at 57 Cavendish St.

Robert Malcolm in 1861 census was a blacksmith. I didn't know he had been in the army.

James would be Robert's younger brother.

Parents are Porterfield Malcolm, who was a carpet weaver in 1861, and Agnes Gilmour.
