Angela is this the passenger index you found for Frank?

MILES Frank
Y.O.B 1907
*** M
Departure year 1926
Port of departure London
Port of arrival Australia Sydney

If so it would be interesting to see if Elsie was on the list with him.

Has anyone in the family mentioned whether Elsie was married or not? If she come out here in 1924 or 1926 she would have been in her mid twenties and if married would be under a different name on a passenger list. Just a thought i had

Thank you all.
On speaking to Dad last night, trying to get him to rack his brains for me.

He told me about a cousin that had been found in Sydney , NSW that Albert Edward Miles 1905 went to visit in the 1950's. The cousin then travelled to the farm at Waddy Forest.

His name was Bill Miles, born UK, he was possibly slightly older than AE Miles 1905. when I get a chance I will look him up.

I did find a 1924 marriage for an
Elsie Miles to
Alexander F Jordan
at Millom , Holy Trinity
Registered at Millom 04/4/4.

I initially discounted it given the assumption that she was a single woman.
I will look it up. As a possibility of a name she travelled under.

The other thing I learned was that there was a relative Wilfred Herman Briand ( he too was a settling farmer in the Coorow waddy area). Hi wife was Nan (nee Smith).

I found a Wilfred Briand B 1907 Registered at Fylde,Lancashire.

The Coopers that AEM1905 emmigrated with are supposedly relatives too.
Not sure if on Maries side or Samuel's.

I have an extremely busy week ahead so will not get much of a chance to do much research until the following week. So apologies in advance if I don't get back to you all, if at all.

Thanks again for your help, Back soon.

The Coopers are a bit of a puzzle.

Davelambert found this for us

I see on the record the dep date was 11 march. It looks as if Albert was an assistant Engineer, travelling with Sam Cooper 37 Engineer, his wife Maria Cooper 34 and children Alfred 12, Muriel 4. as Albert's last address was a ditto of Sams. They last lived at Hydro Garage, Cleveleys, Blackpool

I found a possible birth for Muriel Cooper

Births Dec 1919
Cooper Muriel
Mother's maiden name Miles
District Fylde
Volume and Page 8e 1049

Unless im missing something i cant find a marriage between a Cooper and Miles  So was thinking maybe Maria was married before:confused:
That could explain the large gap between Alfred and Muriel births.

Oh wow Dave that might mean the Miles' weren't all in Lancashire, if Marian was at Manchester hmmm

The Aussie cousin William Miles was born in UK not yet know any other identifying information.
Thankyou for your information, my Dad is gettng into this now too. He is even now sending reply text messages. Thinking he must be getting excited. As the ph is usually switched off at 6pm. It is a beautiful thing.

Thankyou all for your help
