Albert Gibbons murders his wife Sarah Ann(nee.Thompson, in 1909, at High Wycombe, Bucks.

The jury in Aylesbury found Gibbons guilty of murder whilst insane. He was sent to Reading Gaol.

I think he was released by 1921, when he re-married a Ethel W. Mitchel. His Probate gives his place of death(1923), as Little Horsenden Farm,(nr.Princes Risborough, Bucks). £6660-15s. to his widow, Ethel Winifred Gibbons(nee.Mitchel).
I have no idea how long his sentence was.?

Newspaper report. https://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/ne...SES828uC46aZ2Vcx__9zyEYgGWNePTyGnuzxYlvIxfLO0

Any other newspaper reports to be found I'd be grateful. eg, Bucks Herald, Thame Gazette etc. etc.

Thanks.

Steve.:)

British newspaper archives have some articles on him but I cant get the whole article up to see if any further info in it. The other site I use has about as much info as you posted. We are up with the kids at the moment and heading home tomorrow so if nothing further has been found on Albert I will have another look once I get home. Anthony's internet is so slow and that makes looking for things harder.

Most of the articles that have his sentence stated on them just say
"ordered to be detained during His Majesty's pleasure"

Apparently those with sentences like Albert's have no time limit or release date etc.
quote "Someone who is put in prison at His/Her Majesty's pleasure is kept there until it is officially decided that it is safe to release them"
