Alexander was an officer in the Militia and was reported as being killed, stabbed, while quelling a riot in London. The time frame would be 1815 - 1825.
Is there any person that can check Monumental Inscriptions in London for his grave?
His wife's name was Margaret and I suspect that Alexander was born Moray, Scotland.
If he was in the Militia in London, my understanding is that they were citizens called upon when required, so would that mean he was resident in London, or did the Militia have to move to different areas?
Surely, an officer killed in such action would have some mention someplace of this incident but I have practically exhausted all records that I know about.
Does anybody know what Militia group. (brigade), would have been active in London during this time frame?
I have tried an index search of the Military, (Militia) records to no avail.
Thanks
