jeannie Bann Maxwell born on the ship the Bann on way to Australia. Was my great grandmother. Died quite young due to rheumatic heart from caring for mother in mount morgan who I believe died as a result of rheumatic fever. I have a couple of her possessions given via my mum from her father , Robert Campbell gray the son of Jeannie and Archibald gray. I believe his brother was called Lindsay. I think maybe archibald remarried - not well- and loved his last years with my mum and family. Died on couch in sleep while hey they were at the beach.
min Sandgate cemetery in Newcastle.

Hello and welcome to the Forum.

Thanks for the details.

Dave
no worries. I also believe that yes Archibald Campbell Gray came via New Zealand to Australia. The ‘Campbell’ as middle name used in 5 generations of family now. My son included.

MRS. SUSANNA GRAY.
Good to read the link above. I have a photo of sussanna and her husband. I was told there was family member with 14 children and that’s her! The Robert mentioned as a pall bearer would have been my mum’s dad (archibald’s son) and Susanna’ grandson. (Robert Campbell Gray) Two years prior to my uncles birth. Seven years before my mother was born.
