MRS. CAROLINE A. COLLINS.
As briefly reported in Tuesday's issue., the death occurred at the home of her son, Mr. T. H.Collins, of Yamba, of Mrs. Caroline A. Collins, aged 84 years, relict of the late Thcmas A. Collins. The deceased lady, who was very well-known on, the Clarence, was born at Prentice, South Australia, and came to the Clarence in her early youth. She was married to her late husband at Palmer's Island in 1886, later moving to Newcastle and several other centres in New South Wales, finally settling at Yamba some 26 years ago. where she resided untiJ the time of her death. She was predeceased by her husband some 16 years ago. Deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. R. Robson, of Ryde, and two sons, Mr. J. T. Collins, of Rappville,' and Mr. T. H Collins, of Yamba. She was predeceased by two sons. Edward and William, the latter being killed in the Great War. Two sisters survive, Mrs. M. Pullen, of Stanmore. and Mrs. W. Rodgers, of Lismore.

she also admitted that up to the time of her entering the service of Mr. Douglass she had gone by the name of Davey ; this, she said, was the name of her uncle, and, having borne it while she remained in India, she had retained it until the time of her leaving Mrs. Pearse's service, when, thinking it wrong that her sister in India should be called Chantry while she was called Davey she had assumed the former name, which was her right one ; she positively denied that she had assumed this name for the purpose of preventing the Matron of the Orphan School from finding out where she was. The witness likewise admitted that.....
15th June 1846 she married Thomas Collins - she was only 14 years old (per articles on Trove)
