Good old Trove.

https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/60246684

Like his colleague, Mr. John Marks is a native of the
County of Tyrone, in Ireland. His parents emigrated
to New South Wales in 1827, while he was an infant in
arms. He is now twenty-nine years of age, having been
born on the 24th of November, 1826.
Mr. Marks was educated at the Normal Institution in
Sydney, under Mr Henry Gordon, and by his own
sports subsequently in the country. For the last
eighteen years he has resided in the district of Kiama,
ccupying himself as a practical agriculturist.

Death MARKS JOHN 5393/1885 JAMES ELIZABETH - WOOLLAHRA
